Dear Parents/ Carers,
Year 5 Visit to Great North Museum
As part of our history topic on The Ancient Egyptians, Year 5 will be visiting the Great North Museum to take part in an ancient Egyptian workshop ‘Investigating Our Mummified People’. Each class will be going on a different date:
Y5M – Monday 13th June
Y5T Monday 20th June
During the workshop, the pupils will learn about life as an ancient Egyptian. They will also take part in a mummification workshop led by experts from Newcastle University. They will be able to analyse historical evidence and use primary sources to gather information about the mummified residents of the museum.
We will be leaving school at 9:15 and will return in time for the end of the school day. Children must wear their school uniform, not their PE kit. Children will need to bring a packed lunch. Pupils who are in receipt of a free school meal will receive a packed lunch from the school kitchen.
If you have any questions or queries, please do not hesitate to contact either Mr Thew or Mrs McCaffrey.
Yours sincerely,
Mr Thew and Mrs McCaffrey
