Seven Stories - Free Holiday Activities

Seven Stories - the National Centre for children's books, is taking part in Newcastle City Council's Best Summer Ever!


They are offering holiday activities for children in receipt of free school meals (aged 4 to 16 years and attending Newcastle schools) four days a week for the first four weeks of the summer holidays, including an exploration of our galleries, an outdoor story trail and a free healthy lunch. 

This is a great opportunity that shouldn't be missed - to reserve a space, you must book via the Seven Stories website, by following this link. 


The activities will run 10am - 2pm on all the dates listed below, at Seven Stories Visitor Centre (NE1 2PQ).

Daily itinerary


10am - Arrival and registration 

10.15 - 12pm - a guided tour of our Where Stories Come From exhibition, including activities and games to keep all ages engaged


12pm - lunch provided and a participative story time session based on food/health/wellbeing

1pm - 2pm - a walking trail around the local Ouseburn Valley to encourage learning about the local area 

2pm - Return to Visitor Centre for free time to explore the rest of Seven Stories (end of staffed activity but all families welcome to stay longer to explore the Centre)
