Year 6 Residential Visit to Borrowdale
16th to 18th May 2022
We are sending home letters today to those of you who have expressed an interest in the Year 6 residential visit to Borrowdale in Keswick taking place in May.
The letter coming home has a reply slip to return to school by Friday 25 March 2022 to book your child's place on the trip. Please note once this has been received this is your firm commitment to making payment in full, and once allocated no refunds can be made.
As mentioned in our earlier correspondence to you the cost for this trip is £100 per child, or £80 if you are in receipt of free school meals, and all payments need to be made online.
You will shortly receive a link by text with an invitation to make payment to the fund named ‘Y6 Borrowdale’ (please note this is a different named account to the online lunch payments). You can then make payments either in full or by instalments, whichever you prefer.
Year 6 Residential Visit
Borrowdale, Keswick, Lake District
How to register your interest
Our Year 6 children have the exciting opportunity to take part in a residential visit in May for 2 nights to Borrowdale in the Lake District.
The children will take part in an outdoor adventure programme put together by highly qualified instructors, and will be staying at Borrowdale Youth Hostel, Longthwaite, Keswick, CA12 5XE. The children will leave school on the morning of Monday 16th May, and will return to school on Wednesday 18th May 2022.
In order to reduce the cost of the trip, school will be subsiding the overall total using school funds to £100 per child (£80 if eligible for pupil premium) which covers transport, accommodation, food and all activities across the two days.
In the first instance we need to establish if you would be interested in your child attending this residential to get an idea of expected numbers.
Can you please therefore register your interest by email to email@example.com stating your pupil’s name/class and stating :-
a) I am interested in my child attending the two day residential
b) My child does want to attend this exciting opportunity.
(Please ensure you state the reason for your child not attending the residential on the email).
Please ensure you register your interest by email, no later than Friday 4th March, if we do not receive an email from you we will assume your child does not want to attend this residential and will not be included in the numbers.
Once we receive this information and the estimated numbers of pupils who would like to attend this trip we will then send you further information in relation to paying a deposit of £20, and how to make further additional payments which will all be online.
Please note school pays for the residential booking and transport costs in advance, therefore if you do book a place for child you have then made a firm commitment to paying for the trip in full.
Please note if your child does not take part in the residential they will be expected to attend school as normal on these two days.
